A walk through the Zoo

The zoological park, created in 1964, is a 3-hectare green space home to over 360 species of animals. So make the most of your vacation in the Vendée to explore this fabulous world you’ve always seen on TV or in books. Give your family and children a treat by taking them there. The park is totally secure, and you’ll be looked after by guides who will take you on a journey through this world where the residents are animals.

In this world, you’ll have new friends and partners, who will certainly greet you in a funny way. Some with grimaces, others with distraught glances or even screams. This is what creates the atmosphere and charm of this busy park. In fact, it is the second most visited site in the Vendée.

At the entrance, the Aviary of Oceania offers a truly special welcome, with numerous birds occupying a 700 m2 space. A little further ahead, sakis and their young also await to reassure you of the generosity of the park’s inhabitants. Meanwhile, the meerkats welcome you to their magnificent enclosures lined with rocks and sand. If you can’t wait to listen to your parrot friends, there’s a colony of wild beasts hidden in the beautiful vegetation: the jaguars, who don’t think they’ll miss these wonderful moments. Then you can enjoy the atmosphere of your parrot friends.

Activities in Les sables d’Olonne

The park gives you the chance to share good times with the animals through mealtime activities that correspond to the feeding times of each species.

There’s also the Biodiversity Festival, where you can discover different kinds of plants. You can also take advantage of an exhibition on the theme of “The Olonne forest, a protected coastal forest”. The staff are determined to make your visit as enjoyable as possible, with the Planète Attitude game of Goose.

On site, keep a souvenir of your visit by purchasing certain art and cultural objects from the park’s ethnic boutique. Between April and mid-September, you can also sample the park’s delicacies at the snack bar.
