Carnac, land of legend…
Accessible by car in less than 40 minutes from your Ker Yaoulet campsite, Carnac is a must-see site not to be missed during your stay in Brittany. The world-famous menhir alignments of Carnac are 7,000 years old. Thousands of megaliths, lined up in descending order of size over several kilometers, can be found at three main sites in Carnac: Ménec, Kermario and Kerlescan. The alignments can be visited freely from October to March, and with a guide from April to September.

The Carnac Prehistory Museum boasts a rich collection of archaeological artefacts. A large part of the museum is devoted to the Neolithic period and the questions still raised by the mysterious alignments of local megaliths. Numerous tumuli and dolmens can also be seen in the Carnac area: don’t miss the Moustoir or Saint-Michel tumuli, the Kercado dolmen, or the Mane Kerioned site, the ” mound of goblins ” housing three dolmens, one of which is semi-buried.
A charming seaside resort
A land whose imagination is nourished by history and legends, from druid ceremonies to Korrigans, Carnac is also a typical Breton village and an enchanting seaside resort.
After your visit to the menhir alignments, discover one of Carnac’s five beaches: family-friendly, intimate, wild, each with its own character. Ideal for fishing, Beaumer beach is sheltered and shaded. Ty Bihan beach offers an unobstructed view of Quiberon Bay.

In summer, children’s activities are offered. The large beach is appreciated for its south-facing aspect. Swimming is supervised in summer, and the beach is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Numerous bars, restaurants and small shops surround the site. Carnac also has a long tradition of oyster farming, which we invite you to discover at l’Anse du Pô.
Around 30 professionals will be on hand to show you their products: flat and hollow oysters, shellfish and crustaceans. Tours are also available in season.
